InstaBad Magazine Ethics Policy
Core principles
-
Accuracy & fairness. We verify facts, provide context, and attribute sources.
-
Independence. Editorial decisions are free from advertisers, sponsors, or personal relationships.
-
Transparency. We disclose conflicts, label sponsored content, and correct errors openly.
-
Accountability. We welcome feedback and correct mistakes promptly (see Corrections Policy).
-
Respect. We minimize harm and portray subjects with dignity.
Conflicts of interest
Editors, writers, and photographers must disclose any personal, financial, or professional ties to subjects they cover. Assignments with material conflicts are reassigned or clearly disclosed.
Sourcing & verification
We prefer primary sources, documents, and on‑the‑record statements. Anonymous sources are used sparingly and require editorial approval. Quotes and captions are verified before publication.
Visual standards
Photo and video edits may adjust exposure, color, and crop for clarity; manipulations that alter reality are prohibited in editorial content unless clearly labeled as illustration or concept art.
AI usage
If AI tools assist with research, transcription, or editing, editors remain responsible for accuracy. AI‑generated imagery is not used in editorial features unless labeled as such. We do not publish AI‑fabricated news.
Gifts, samples, and events
We do not accept gifts, payments, or undisclosed perks that could influence coverage. Review units or event access, if accepted, do not guarantee coverage and will be disclosed per our Advertising/Sponsorship Policy.
Diversity & inclusion
We strive for inclusive representation in contributors, subjects, and stories.
